On Saturday, the center announced that it would organize special trains to facilitate the return of workers to their places of work, following concerns expressed by industries regarding the shortage of workers.

Minister of State for Finance and Commercial Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur, after listening to the problem of labor shortages in industries, assured that special trains would be put in place so that workers could return to their workplace, the Bharat Chamber of Commerce said in a statement.

Mr. Thakur interacted with members of the chamber by videoconference.

The minister urged industries to contact their workers, who returned home during the lockout.

According to the Railway Office, 3,840 “Shramik Special trains have operated until May 28 since the start of services from May 1.

Responding to other suggestions from the board, Thakur said an ordinance will soon be adopted on the new source tax deduction rules (TDS).
