The central government does not believe in viewing crime through the prism of caste, creed or region, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said on Tuesday.

Mr Reddy also said the government will never condone crimes against women and the oppressed and will take all measures to ensure swift and decisive justice for all victims.

The comment from the Union Minister of State at Home came about a fortnight after the gang rape and murder of a Dalit woman in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, sparked national outrage.

The central government recently issued an advisory to states on women’s safety and how to deal with crimes against them, and said the investigation of rape cases should be completed within two months and the declaration of a victim’s death cannot be ruled out just because it was not. been registered by a magistrate.

“The government does not believe in considering a crime from the prism of caste, creed, religion or region, because the crime is against humanity and peace and the government would never tolerate crimes against women and the oppressed and will take all measures to ensure swift and decisive justice for all victims, ”Mr. Reddy said at the digital inauguration of the 21st All India Directors’ Conference, Fingerprint Bureau 2020 .

An official statement says Mr. Reddy also inaugurated the eCyber ​​lab set up by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).

Mr Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government believes in zero tolerance for crime and terrorism and, under the leadership of Union Home Secretary Amit Shah, the government’s goal is to create an India without crime.
