Bengaluru:
A high-speed trip on the Bengaluru-Mysuru rail route went so smoothly after extensive track maintenance that it passed a test where not a drop of water spilled out. a glass kept on the table of a coach, said Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal.
The minister, in a tweet on Friday evening, shared a video of a glass filled with water kept on a compartment table from which not a drop spilled during the trip.
“The trip went so smoothly that not even a single drop of water spilled out of the glass as the train was traveling at high speed. The results of the intensive maintenance of the tracks between Bengaluru and Mysuru in Karnataka are visible to everyone ”. he tweeted.
A railway officer said work on the over 130 km stretch had been undertaken over the past six months at a cost of Rs 40 crore.
Inserting ballast, plugging tracks and reinforcing embankments are some of the work being done, she said.
