New Delhi:

A 17-year-old boy was reportedly killed by his friend after an argument broke out between them over paying a party in a slum in northwest Delhi, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday evening as the two teenagers and a friend gathered in one of their barracks in Jahangirpuri, police said.

Their 22-year-old friend who witnessed the incident told police that a feud had arisen between the victim and the suspect over payment for the party, an officer said.

The teenager, also 17, later shot the victim and the bullet hit him in the chest. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the officer said.

The minor was apprehended. None of them were found drinking, the officer added.

A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Weapons Act, police said.
