Two key witnesses in a case of community violence in northeast Delhi in which suspended adviser AAP Tahir Hussain was named as one of the main accused, were employed by him, and saw him speak to several people from “very secret” way before the start. riots of February 24, said an indictment filed by Delhi police in court.

Girish Pal and Rahul Kasana said in their statements to the police that they were present on February 24 at Hussain’s office in the Khajuri Khas region.

“In the afternoon, they saw several people gathered on the ground floor of Tahir Hussain’s house and he spoke to them very secretly and accused Shah Alam, Irshad, Abid, Arshad Pradhan, Rashid and Shadab were also present on the spot, as well as other strangers, “said the indictment.

The duo, who were cited as key witnesses by the police, left after hearing the noise of the crowd outside and feeling the tension in the office, he added.

The Delhi Police Crime Department had filed the charges with the Metropolitan Chief Justice Pawan Singh Rajawat against Hussain and 14 others last month.

The court will consider the case for consideration of the indictment in August.

According to the indictment, a copy of which is available, another prosecution witness Rajbir Singh Yadav, who supervised the food preparations for a wedding in a parking lot near Hussain’s house, said in his statement that the crowd destroyed food prepared for her friend’s daughter’s marriage and accused Riyakat Ali looted 62,000 rupees.

Accused Shah Alam was also present with Ali and several others, and Hussain was among the rioting crowd, the statement said.

He added that another prosecution witness said that Hussain was on the roof of his house and that he was throwing stones and directing others by his side who also threw stones and gasoline bombs towards the car park.

During the investigation, efforts were made to collect video surveillance images of the incident from private and government cameras, but no video could be found due to the unavailability of nearby video surveillance, said the charge sheet.
