New Delhi:

The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the week-long PID hearing calling for a court-watched CBI investigation into the death of Disha Salian, former director of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

A bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde adjourned the case as no lawyer had appeared for the applicant in the case.

The plea filed by attorney Puneet Dhanda claimed that the two deaths are interconnected as they occurred under suspicious circumstances.

“It was after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, various rumors and conspiracy theories were linked between the deaths of Disha and Sushant, because both died under suspicious circumstances and at the peak of their successful professional careers,” says advocacy.

Disha Salian, 28, died on June 8 after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Malad (west) Mumbai.

PIL said if the higher court, after reading the investigation report by the Mumbai police, finds it unsatisfactory, then the case is referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.

The plea was also aimed at calling on the Maharashtra police to cooperate with the Bihar police investigation into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
