New Delhi:
Fans of Akshay Kumar are thrilled to discover that, as rumor, his next action movie Sooryavanshi will be released in cinemas rather than on an OTT platform. Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty, is slated for this Diwali, reports business analyst Taran Adarsh. In addition, the sports film ’83, with Ranveer Singh as former Kapil Dev skipper, will also hit theaters and is scheduled for Christmas. The two films were due out earlier this year – March and April – and were postponed due to the closure of the coronavirus. Twitter tends #Sooryavanshi all morning, relieved by the prospect of watching Rohit Shetty’s legendary celluloid pyrotechnics on the big screen.

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and the biopic Shakuntala Devi with Vidya Balan in mind.
Sooryavanshi and ’83 are the first Bollywood movies to officially announce their theatrical release after the lockdown. The first film, the latest from Rohit Shetty’s cop, stars Akshay Kumar as a police officer named Veer Sooryavanshi. Katrina Kaif co-stars. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh make appearances repeating their roles as Bajirao Singham and Simmba Bhalerao in other Rohit Shetty cop films. ’83, whose Ranveer’s wife, Deepika Padukone, makes an appearance as Kapil Dev’s wife, Romi, tells the story of India’s historic World Cup victory in 1983.
