Nisarga is the second hurricane storm to hit the country in just two weeks after Odisha and West Bengal were severely affected by Cyclone Amphan last month. Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Cylone Nisarga made landfall near Alibaug, a holiday destination some 100 km from Mumbai. Wind speed slowed Wednesday evening as the storm weakened in a cyclone. No damage has been reported so far in Mumbai. Apart from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli have been put on alert due to the cyclone which developed in a low pressure area over the Arabian Sea.
Meanwhile, in addition to arranging buses and food for the migrants, who have been walking home since the lockdown was imposed earlier in March, Sonu Sood also launched a free hotline for stranded migrants. He recently organized a special flight to transport 177 stranded girls from Kochi to Bhubaneshwar. Last month, the actor had proposed his hotel in Mumbai for health professionals to stay there.
