Sachin Pilot was sacked as Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Head of State Congress

New Delhi:

Congress is divided over whether to prosecute Rajasthan’s case legally in the Supreme Court, sources told GalacticGaming a day before the court heard the case. One section wants Congress to withdraw its petition from court and address the issue politically. According to sources, these leaders believe that the crisis should be addressed politically. Others are keen to maintain the commitment in court.

Last week, after the rebel camp led by Sachin Pilot surrendered to the High Court in Rajasthan and granted him temporary relief, Congress filed a petition with the Supreme Court to challenge the order.
The higher court will hear the matter tomorrow.

The issue, however, is likely to interfere with Congress’ strategy of calling an assembly as soon as possible.

Governor Kalraj Mishra, who rejected the Ashok Gehlot government’s first proposal to convene an assembly, listed it as one of six reasons for refusal.

Several key congressional leaders are now of the opinion that the Supreme Court petition should now be withdrawn and the issue should be pursued politically.
