Srinagar:

A 24-year-old woman became a successful entrepreneur after starting a home delivery business of gift baskets in Kashmir.

Samar Shawl is from a family that owns their own business. Since her childhood, Ms. Samar was good at wrapping gifts with decorative items and always wanted to work independently.

“I always wanted to work independently and wanted to do something where I could speak directly to my clients,” she said.

Speaking about her business, she said that she offers various gift baskets according to the client’s budget by speaking to them directly for their satisfaction.

“We provide various gift baskets depending on the customer’s budget. We also offer three categories of gift wrap – basic, premium and elite. When we suggest the gift to customers, it becomes easier for them to choose the gift combo,” Said Mrs. Shawl.

In order to attract customers, she uses Instagram and Facebook to take orders for gift baskets and is happy with the good response from customers. She also says that her parents have always supported her in achieving her dream of becoming an independent entrepreneur.

“I have an account on Instagram named Ribbons by Samar Shawl and I also have a Facebook account. We take the order through these platforms. When we confirm an order, we call the customer and suggest gift baskets because there are different categories to choose from. ”Ms. Shawl said.

She was a business student at Delhi Public School, Srinagar, and after graduating from university, she started to explore the idea of starting her own business and got this idea.

“I completed my 12th grade in Commerce from Delhi Public School, then did my BBA and MBA from Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora. When I was in the third semester, I had three or four ideas for starting my own business, but later they were executed by someone else. Then I had this idea and thought I had to do it, ”Ms. Shawl said.
