New Delhi:

Sachin Pilot removed his designations from his Twitter biography shortly after he was sacked as Deputy Prime Minister of Rajasthan and President of the State Congress. Its nameplate was also removed from Congress headquarters in Jaipur, the state capital, as a visible sign of an impending divorce.

As soon as Sachin Pilot, 42, changed his biography, the tweets commented on it.

Her biography now says “Tonk’s MLA, former Minister of IT, Telecommunications and Business, GOI / Commissioned Officer, Territorial Army.”

Earlier, instead of the deputy for Tonk, the biography said: “Chief Deputy Minister of Rajasthan, President of the Congress of Rajasthan”.

The Sachin Pilot nameplate has been removed from the Congress office and another name of Govind Singh Dotasra as leader of Rajasthan has been put in place.

Pilot was sacked from the government of Rajasthan after publicly rebelling against chief minister Ashok Gehlot and skipping two meetings. The rebel leader camped in Delhi with his supporters, adamant to the highest office he was denied in 2018.

He remained cold in the face of overtures from the party leadership while Congress claimed it was in contact with the BJP, a party that snatched two congresses from Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh – since last year, thanks to high-level resignations and revolt.

The BJP spoke of a ground test, claiming that the Ashok Gehlot government lost its majority.

Congress currently has 100 MPs, 90 of whom are independent and small parties. Ashok Gehlot needs 101 MPs to vote for him in the 200 member assembly.
