Thane:
A ganja worth Rs 1.38 crore was seized on Saturday from an abandoned truck parked near a dilapidated structure in the Manpada area of Thane town, police said.
Police chief Avinash Ambure said the truck was located around 4 a.m. after a report was reported.
“We found corns in the truck early on, but a detailed search revealed 691 kilograms of ganja (cannabis) worth Rs 1.38 crore under a tarp. We did not find anyone near the truck. It is possible that the driver, etc. escaped. has registered a case under NDPS, ”he said.
Probe into the details of the truck, its route history and those who operate the ganja smuggling network were ongoing, Ambure said.
