Beijing:

RJD MP Manoj Jha said on Wednesday that donations received from the PM Cares Fund from all Chinese sources should be returned.

He said the ban on Chinese apps is just “symbolism”.

“I think it’s just symbolism. If we want to give a message, then every penny received in the PM CARES fund from any Chinese source should be returned,” Jha told ANI.

“When the question was asked in parliament about the threat of Chinese apps, the government said there was no danger,” he added.

The head of the RJD commented on the Indian government’s decision to ban 59 mobile applications, including TikTok, UC Browser and other Chinese applications “prejudicial to the country’s sovereignty and integrity and defense”.

The Ministry of Information Technology said in a statement that it had decided to block 59 applications based on the information available, “that they are engaged in activities detrimental to the sovereignty and integrity of India , the defense of India, the security of the state and public order “.

Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the government had banned the apps for “the security, safety, defense, sovereignty and integrity of India”.
