Fahim Saleh, 33, was found numb at his Manhattan home Tuesday afternoon.

New York, United States:

The body of a wealthy young tech entrepreneur was found beheaded in his luxury apartment in New York, police said on Wednesday.

Fahim Saleh, 33, was found numb at his Manhattan home Tuesday afternoon, a NYPD spokesperson told AFP.

“He was dismembered. His death was considered a homicide,” she said.

An investigation is underway but no arrests have yet been made, the spokeswoman added.

The New York Times reported that detectives found an electric saw near Saleh’s chest. His head and limbs were found elsewhere in the apartment.

Saleh’s sister discovered her body before calling the police, officials told the newspaper.

Police gave no reason for the murder, but the Daily News tabloid said investigators believed it may be a business dispute.

Saleh, the son of Bangladeshi immigrants, was CEO of the Nigerian motorcycle delivery and delivery application Gokada.

“Fahim was a great leader, an inspiration and a positive light for all of us. Fahim’s vision and belief in us will be with us forever, and he will be greatly missed,” Gokada said on his Twitter account.

He was also one of the founding partners of Adventure Capital, which invests in startups in developing countries.

According to local media reports, Saleh recently bought the apartment where he was murdered for around $ 2.2 million.
