A day after a panel of AIIMS doctors in Delhi ruled out the murder as the cause of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Lok Sabha Congress leader Adhir Choudhury demanded on Sunday that the Lok Sabha’s girlfriend actor Rhea Chakraborty be released immediately without further harassment.
Mr Choudhury, who had said in the past that Chakraborty was ‘falsely involved’ following her arrest in connection with a drug investigation linked to Mr Rajput’s death, claimed on Twitter that she was victim of a “political conspiracy”.
“Now the BJP propaganda machine can blame the AIIMS forensic team that overturned the allegation that Rhea Chakroborty conspired to kill Sushsnt Singh Rajput,” tweeted the state congressman.
“We are all saddened by the expiration of Sushant ji but he cannot be honored by wrongly implicating a lady as the accused, I said earlier that Rhea Chakroborty was an innocent woman, she should be released without further harassment for she, the victim of a political plot (sic), ”he added.
In its concluding forensic opinion to the CBI, a team of six forensic scientists rejected the theories of “poisoning and strangulation” in Mr. Rajput’s death.
Ms. Chakraborty was arrested on September 8 by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
