Geneva:
Many countries that have successfully battled the new coronavirus are seeing an increase in cases due to religious events and other vulnerable contexts such as expatriate gatherings, said Maria Van Kerkhove of the World Health Organization.
“Any opportunity the virus needs to seize will be. It is really important that countries are able to detect these cases quickly,” she said in an online briefing.
Mike Ryan of WHO said there appeared to be new clusters in South Korea linked to clubs, shelters and amusement parks and that the sewage discoveries in the north Italy showed that there was a chance that the virus would circulate there before anyone knew about it.
