Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Thursday ordered a series of relaxations amid the COVID-19 outbreak, including lifting the nighttime curfew and the Sunday lockdown, while ordering the DGP to do so. strictly enforce the wearing of masks and other safety standards.

Among the relaxations announced by the Chief Minister include increasing the guest limit for weddings and funerals in the state to 100, in accordance with Center guidelines, as well as relaxing the three-person limit in a car and 50% on buses. , subject to the condition of the open windows, an official statement said in Chandigarh.

In an earlier brief presentation, the head of the state’s health expert committee, KK Talwar, said the positivity rate in the state rose from 10.85% on September 14 to 5.12% September 28.

The number of deaths and patients on ventilators also showed a drop during this period, he said.

The state’s COVID-19 death rate currently stands at 2.9% and the death rate per million at 112.5%. The recovery rate rose to 82.1%, Talwar added.
