New Delhi:

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has attacked the Yogi Adityanath government for its handling of the COVID-19 crisis, saying that at a time when there is an “explosive” growth of cases, its “no test equals” policy with no crown “can lead to a” frightening situation “.

In a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the Secretary General of Congress said the battle against the pandemic cannot be fought simply by “managing publicity and news”.

Noting that 2,500 coronavirus cases were reported to UP on Friday, she said almost all subways were inundated with COVID-19 cases, but now even villages were not far behind in the spread.

“The quarantine centers in the UP are in a pathetic state. In some places the situation is so bad that people fear mismanagement more than the coronavirus. Due to such a scenario, they do not leave their homes. them to get tested, ”Priyanka Gandhi said.

“It is a big failure of the government,” she added.

The state government by believing in the mantra “no test = no coronavirus” has adopted a policy of low testing, she said.

“There is an explosive increase in COVID-19 cases. As long as testing is not transparently increased, the fight against the pandemic will be incomplete and the situation may become more frightening,” she said.

“The Prime Minister is an MP from Varanasi, the Minister of Defense from Lucknow, many other Union ministers are from the UP. Why can’t we open temporary hospitals in Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra, etc. ” Priyanka Gandhi asked.

Tightening its grip on Uttar Pradesh, COVID-19 killed a record 50 in the state on Friday, with the deadly virus infecting 2,667 more people in the largest one-day peak to date.
