Priyanka Chopra’s celebration party to mark 20 years in the entertainment industry has started on Instagram. On Friday she celebrated the first defining moment in her life – when she won the Miss India pageant in 2000. Later that year, Priyanka Chopra was crowned Miss World – she was only 18! Priyanka created a video on Instagram, which records her reactions while browsing back contest videos and photos. “What am I wearing… first of all? What is this crown of thorns on my head?” she started and also made an observation from yesterday and today: “What is hair? I had so much hair! When did I lose my hair?”
Priyanka, 38, was also impressed with the way her teenage daughter handled this question during the Miss India pageant – “If you were God in the Garden of Eden, who would you punish – Adam, Eve or Satan?” The Priyanka of then had said, “Evil is instigated, not created” and the Priyanka of now reacts thus: “It is quite intelligent … so deep.”
While watching the triumphant moment of when she was crowned, Priyanka said, “It was crazy. I never, ever expected to win. I wasn’t supposed to. I had booked a train and I had to go back and give my exams. And I had a crown on my head. It was crazy. It’s been 20 years and I haven’t looked back until now. “
Moving on to photoshoot videos of her young self, Priyanka said, “These videos are crazy.” She also dug up fashion photos of herself when she was only 16 and said, “These photos are hard to look at.”
“This is where it all started… If you’ve never seen them before, you’re going to be in for a treat,” Priyanka wrote in her video.
Priyanka Chopra’s other Miss India 2000 winners were Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza. While Priyanka won the Miss World title later that year, Lara Dutta was crowned Miss Universe and Dia Mirza won the Miss Asia Pacific title.
