Why PM refutes Minister of Defense statement, Congress said (File)

New Delhi:

Intensifying the offensive against the government in the dead end of Ladakh, the Congress affirmed Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had “approved the Chinese position” by affirming that there was no intrusion in the Indian territory.

Congressman Rahul Gandhi hit the Prime Minister, saying that “Narendra Modi is actually the Surender Modi”. His remarks came a day after accusing the Prime Minister of “returning” Indian territory to Chinese aggression.

Mr. Gandhi also marked an article in a Japanese publication entitled – “India’s policy of appeasement towards China is unfolding”.

Congressman and former Union minister Kapil Sibal said the government should not remain in denial. It should not back down until Chinese retirement and the status quo ante are restored to the effective line of control, the de facto border between India and China, he added.

Prime Minister Modi said on Friday in a multi-stakeholder meeting to discuss the situation along the Indo-Chinese border: “Na wahan koi hamari seema mein ghusa hua hai, na hi hamari koi post kisi dusre ke kabze mein hain (Neither anyone inside our territory nor any of our messages is captured). “

The Prime Minister’s remarks sparked massive criticism, with Congress accusing him of ceding Indian territory to China. He asked where the 20 Indian soldiers had been killed if the Chinese military did not come from the Indian side of the LAC.

“When China violated the LAC region and staked the claim on the Galwan valley and you (PM Modi) said that no one was entering Indian territory, you yourself say what China is”, a said Sibal at a virtual press conference.

“Has the Prime Minister in some way approved the Chinese position that they have never entered our territories. The Prime Minister must explain,” he said.

“Let no one in the central government remain in denial. Until Chinese retirement and the status quo ante are restored, our government should not give up or appear to cede any part of these territories to the Chinese,” he said. -he adds.

Sibal asked if the Prime Minister’s statement was an insult to the supreme value and sacrifice of the soldiers who sought to expel the Chinese from the Indian territory of the Galwan Valley.

“Does the government mean that their sacrifice was in vain. Is it not true that China has never claimed the Galwan Valley as territory? Is it not also correct that China has now committed cheeky transgressions in the Galwan Valley? ” he said.

Sibal said Prime Minister Modi’s remarks contradict statements by the Minister of Defense, the Minister of External Affairs and the head of the military.

“Why does the PM refute the statement by the Minister of Defense on the” Chinese presence in large numbers “and the statement by EAM that we are seeking to restore the” status quo ante “? has the army not made it clear that “disengagement” is underway? “

The President of Congress, however, said that the whole country stood behind the government in all the measures it would take to defend the territorial integrity of India.
