Bihar Assembly Election 2020: PM Modi was speaking at a rally in Forbesganj in Bihar.

Forbesganj:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, campaigning in Bihar today, mocked Congress for failing to add up to 100 members, even in both houses of parliament combined.

“Today the Congress is in such a state that if you combine the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, even then they don’t have 100 MPs,” Prime Minister Modi said at a rally in Forbesganj, a day when Bihar votes in the second round. three-phase polls to elect a new government.

“Congress has never set an example, which is why its total membership has fallen below 100 in Parliament,” the Prime Minister noted.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Prime Minister Modi crossed the 100 mark in Rajya Sabha for the first time after nine BJP candidates were unopposed in the House on Monday.

The ruling coalition is now at 104 in Rajya Sabha, where the midpoint is 121. This will help the government pass legislation with the support of friendly parties like Congress AIADMK, BJD, TRS and YSR.

The Congress, which has long dominated Rajya Sabha, which has 242 members, is now at its lowest total of 38 seats after losing two more seats to the BJP. With its Lok Sabha deputies, the Congress now has 89 deputies in total, well under 100.

It is the biggest gap ever between the BJP and Congress, which was dismissed in 2014 after 10 years in power.

Congress has no MPs from 14 key states and in politically vital Uttar Pradesh, home to most of the party icons, it has only one member – party chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
