New Delhi:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects for Varanasi, including those related to agriculture, tourism and infrastructure.
The total cost of these projects is Rs 614 crore, according to the prime minister’s office.
The Prime Minister also interacted with some of the beneficiaries of these projects during the event by video conference.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, was present on the occasion.
The inaugurated projects include the modernization of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Ramnagar hospital, works related to the sewers, infrastructure for the protection and conservation of cows, a housing complex for players at the Sampurnanand stadium, a multipurpose seed warehouse and the Sarnath Light and Sound show.
During the event, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for projects such as the redevelopment of Dashashwamedh Ghat and Khidkiya Ghat, the barracks of the PAC police forces, the modernization of the multi-purpose hall of Girija Devi Sanskritik Sankul, the works repair of city roads. , and the development of tourist sites.
