Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked young people across the country to visit a website highlighting stories of the bravery of the armed forces and police since independence.
In his monthly address to “Mann ki Baat” radio in which he spoke of the Kargil war fought 21 years ago, Prime Minister Modi asked young people to share stories of heroic acts of bravehearts and sacrifices of the world. from courageous mothers.

Hailing the worth of the armed forces during the Kargil War, Prime Minister Modi also called on people to speak up and act with the morale of the soldiers in mind.
People should remember that their conduct and remarks should boost morale and respect for soldiers, Prime Minister Modi said, urging everyone to do everything to strengthen national unity.
According to the website, after independence, the first three awards for bravery – the Param Vir Chakra, the Maha Vir Chakra and the Vir Chakra – were instituted by the government on January 26, 1950 and were deemed to have effect from August 15th. 1947.
Subsequently, three other awards for bravery – the Ashoka Chakra Class-I, the Ashoka Chakra Class-II and the Ashoka Chakra Class-III – were instituted by the government on January 4, 1952, which were deemed to have effective from August 15th. , 1947. These awards were renamed respectively Ashoka Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra in January 1967.
These bravery awards are announced twice a year – on Republic Day and Independence Day.
The order of precedence of these awards is the Param Vir Chakra, Ashoka Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Vir Chakra and Shaurya Chakra, the website says.
