Sonia Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday over the issue of agricultural bills.

Motihari:

On Friday, Acting Congress President Sonia Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of farm bills and accused her government of weakening the right to information law.

On Gandhi Jayanti, she also invoked the Father of the Nation, to attack the government which, according to her, swears by name but demolishes its ideals by its actions.

“Some people swear by Gandhi’s name but destroy his ideals and principles with their actions. Lawlessness, atrocities and mistreatment prevail everywhere. An environment of discrimination has been created in society where atrocities are inflicted on innocent people, ”she said.

She was practically addressing a “ Gandhi Chetna rally ” at the Congress Party office in Motihari, the seat of the East Champaran district in Bihar, to mark the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth.

It was in Champaran where Mahatama Gandhi had experimented

“Satyagraha” movement for the first time in India. It would later become his most powerful weapon in the fight against British rule.

“Enough is enough. I would like to say that some people run the government by creating an atmosphere of emotion, confusion and fear (bhavna, bhram aur bhay). You (the people) have to stay alert and careful and take the right decisions, ”she said.

“We must fight together and this will be our real tribute to Gandhi ji,” she added.

The congressman also unveiled a life-size statue of the Mahatma, and said his ideals are the “soul and spirit” of his party.

In her speech, which many saw as the launch of her party’s campaign for the Bihar elections, the process of which has already started, Sonia Gandhi said that the common man was still at the center of Congress’ welfare programs.

“But whenever Congress tries to work for the development of the poor, certain forces rise up against the party for their sake,” she said.

“Imagine what could have happened if there had been no MNREGA during the COVID pandemic? Large numbers of people would have starved to death,” she said.
