Indian military responded appropriately to the bombing of Pak, officials said (Representation)

Jammu:

Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire and resorted to heavy fire and mortar bombardment on Wednesday in advanced areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir , officials said.

The Indian army responded as it should, they said.

“At approximately 6:45 p.m. today, the Pakistani army initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing small arms and heavy bombardment with mortars along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mankote sector, ”a defense spokesperson said.

Pakistan has been targeting the Mankote area and its hamlets for three days, injuring several animals on Tuesday.

The Pakistani military violated the ceasefire 46 times this month.

One soldier was killed and two others, including an officer, were wounded on September 5 in the Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district. On September 2, another officer was killed in Rajouri sector in Keri.
