The critically acclaimed film by Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor Parinda timed 31 years old Tuesday. The film, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, was released on November 3, 1989 and was promoted with this slogan – the most powerful film ever made. Marking 31 years of the film, Madhuri Dixit shared a poster of Parinda starring herself and Anil Kapoor and wrote: “Playing ‘Paro’ in #Parinda has been an exciting experience. The film’s slogan rightly justifies it ‘The Most Powerful Movie Ever Made’. also did a death scene for the first time. Wonderful memories with the incredible cast and crew make this one extra special. “

Parinda presents Nana Patekar as a gift named Anna and Anil Kapoor as the henchman of Anna Kishan (Jackie Shroff), Karan’s younger brother. When Anna’s morons kill Karan friend and cop Prakash (played by Anupam Kher), he joins the world of crime to take revenge for the murder of Prakash. Later, Karan marries Prakash Paro’s sister (Madhuri Dixit) but the duo are brutally killed on their wedding night.

Parinda was considered one of the best gangster movies made in Bollywood in the 80s and 90s. Parinda has won several awards, including the National Awards for Best Supporting Actor (Nana Patekar) and Best Editing (Renu Saluja). Vinod Chopra won the Filmfare Award for Best Director.
