In many ways, Sushant Singh Rajput occupied a very unique space in the industry to which he belonged. On the one hand, he had several interests outside of the profession he had chosen, many of them having a university bias. In two shared tribute messages after Mr. Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai home on Sunday, references were made to the 34-year-old actor’s scientific mind. “He was passionate about science,” wrote Sushant Singh Rajput. Kai Po Che! and Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor, signing his note with the words “stay interstellar.” Priyanka Chopra said she would miss the “sunrise astrophysics conversations” she had had with Mr. Rajput.
A small scroll on the actor’s Instagram supports this. On social networks, Sushant Singh Rajput was generally a man of few words; he reserved his eloquence and his enthusiasm for certain chosen subjects, including science. Astrophysics, to be precise. Her Instagram biography reads: “Photon in a double slit.” Mr. Rajput spent a lot of time staring at the stars; studying engineering before retiring to act, he was a scholar in space and cosmos.
