Railway ensures safety and cleanliness of isolation cars

The North Eastern Railway has deployed coaches converted to coronavirus isolation quarters at 14 of its stations, a senior official said today.

At each station, up to 10 coaches have been deployed for COVID-19 suspected patients, while an AC trainer has been deployed for doctors and nurses, and an SLR trainer to keep track of things.

So far, up to 59 suspect patients have been admitted to the station’s coronavirus isolation services, of which 20 have been released.

“On directives from the government of Uttar Pradesh, the North Eastern Railway deployed 10 non-air-conditioned coaches, modified to function as COVID-19 treatment centers (in addition to the AC trainer for doctors and nurses and the SLR trainer to keep things) in 14 stations in Mau, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Gonda, Bareilly, Marhuadih, Ballia, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Nautanwa, Farrukhabad, Bhatni, Bahraich and Kasganj.

“The trainer for Deoria Sadar station is currently in Bhatni, and will soon be taken to Deoria Sadar station. In this way, there will be 15 of these stations where the special buses will be deployed,” said the director. public relations at North Eastern Railways. Said Pankaj Kumar Singh.

He said that each isolation coach will have eight cabins, each cabin accommodating two patients.

“In other words, there will be 16 patients in the same bus and 160 patients in a station. Adequate arrangements for ventilators and lights have been made. Mosquito nets have also been installed on the windows,” said M Singh.

The railway ensures the safety and cleanliness of the buses, while the treatment aspect is taken care of by the district health service.

A separate path for special coaches has been reserved so that the public does not take this route. This route will be used to transport patients by medical teams and other personnel.

“Until now, these coaches were only used in Mau. In Mau, on June 20, the district administration admitted 42 suspected coronavirus patients and 17 patients on June 21. On June 22, up to 20 patients were released. now, 39 suspect patients are admitted to these modified coaches, “he said.

The senior official also informed that the Northeast Railway had modified a total of 217 cars.
