On the spread of the community in Delhi, central government officials said it had not yet happened: Manish Sisodia

New Delhi:

There is no community-wide spread of the coronavirus in Delhi, according to central officials, said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, even as his cabinet colleague expressed concern over the capital’s entry into the city. phase with more and more cases which cannot be traced to any source.

“On the spread of the community in Delhi, central government officials said it had not yet happened,” said Manish Sisodia after a meeting with the Delhi Disaster Management Authority.

Delhi Minister of Health Satyendra Jain said just before the meeting that half of the coronavirus cases in Delhi could not be attributed to any source.

“We say that the community has spread when people do not know how they got the infection. There are many cases. In 50% of the cases in Delhi, the source of the infection is not known” Jain told reporters before the lieutenant’s meeting. The house of Governor Anil Baijal.

Community spread, or the third stage of a pandemic, occurs when it is difficult to trace the source of the infection.

To find out if Delhi was on this scene, the Minister of Health said that only the central government could declare the spread of the community.

“The director of the AIIMS, Randeep Guleria, had declared that there was a community transmission in Delhi, but the center has not yet accepted it. We cannot declare it and the center must declare it. Community is a technical term and it depends on the Center whether they accept it or not. There are four stages in epidemiology, the third of which is dissemination in the community, “said Mr. Jain.

There are almost 30,000 cases of COVID-19 in Delhi and the minister said the city is not far behind Mumbai, the most affected in the country.

“We are 10 days behind Mumbai in terms of case distribution and in Delhi the number is increasing by the same amount. It is expected that in Delhi we will reach 50,000 cases in the next 10 days,” said M Jain.

Party Minister Aam Aadmi (AAP) denounced the lieutenant governor’s decision to quash the city government’s decision to reserve hospitals, except those managed by the center for Delhi residents.

“Under pressure from the BJP, the lieutenant governor overturned the decision. We will ask him if large numbers of people have come from outside to seek treatment, so where will the people of Delhi go?” asked the minister.

“We expected that beds in private hospitals could accommodate patients for up to 15 days. However, most of the beds reserved for COVID-19 patients were occupied in the last three to five days.”
