Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Delivered Opening Remarks At Multiparty Meeting

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said Friday that “‘there was no failure of the intelligence services’ during the violent confrontation in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh, which claimed the lives of 20 soldiers of the Indian army.

“There has been no intelligence failure,” said Singh at an all-party meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the issue of the Indo-Chinese border, sources said. .

At the meeting, Acting Congress Chair Sonia Gandhi asked if there had been an intelligence failure.

Gandhi targeted government on China’s handling of “intrusions” by China into eastern Ladakh, saying it had lost time, “failed” to use all channels, resulting in the death of 20 soldiers during the violent confrontation in the Galwan Valley and asked if there was an intelligence failure.

Gandhi said opposition parties and the people are still unaware of many crucial aspects of the crisis.

The leaders who took part in the meeting are the President of the Congress Sonia Gandhi, the head of the NCP Sharad Pawar, the chief minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, the chief minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao and the chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Interior Minister Amit Shah, Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman and BJP chief JP Nadda attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister and leaders also paid tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in the violent confrontation between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh.

The clash took place on June 15 following an attempt by Chinese troops to unilaterally change the status quo during the de-escalation in eastern Ladakh.

Indian interceptions revealed that the Chinese side claimed 43 lives, including deaths and serious injuries in the violent clash.
