Patna:
The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, could abandon the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the publication of the results of the vote of the Assembly, join the Grand Alliance led by the RJD and try again to challenge the NDA during the elections. 2024 general election, Lok Janshakti Party President (LJP), Chirag Paswan, said.
Mr. Paswan reiterated that the LJP was and will remain loyal to the BJP, which was looking at the specter of another “paltimaar“(about-face) by the president of JD (U).
“Nitish Kumar earned the epithet ‘palturam‘(turncoat) by virtue of its frequent acts of paltimaar. He came to power in Bihar after a long political battle with RJD leader Lalu Prasad. A few years later, he severed his ties with the BJP, an old ally, and ended up forming an alliance with his great rival, ”he told a news channel.
Mr. Paswan, whose late father and founder of LJP Ram Vilas Paswan, joined the NDA ahead of Lok Sabha’s election, recalled “the criticism accumulated on (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi” by Mr. Kumar, who was opposed to its then counterpart in Gujarat.
“Believing himself to be a potential challenger to the Prime Minister at the national level, (Nitish) Kumar, with Lalu Prasad by his side, spat so much venom against Prime Minister Modi in the assembly polls that took place there. barely five years. It only took him two years to get rid of. Lalu and go back to the NDA, “he said.
“Note my words, he was very caustic against Lalu Prasad during his election campaign, but given his disposition he can cross again, try to form the next government with the Grand Alliance, and even try to project himself as a alternative to Modi in 2024, ”said Mr. Paswan, who is the MP for Jamui.
Earlier, the head of the LJP addressed a press conference where he repeated allegations of corruption in the “saat nishchay” (seven resolutions) which included, among other things, plans to bring running water to every household. and fortify walkways and ditches with concrete.
“The corruption in these schemes needs to be deepened and we should not be surprised if the complicity of the chief minister himself comes to the fore,” he added.
The LJP fielded its candidates for more than 140 seats in the 243-strong assembly, mostly against those fighting over a JD (U) ticket. Chirag Paswan’s party has avoided taking the BJP in most of the 110 seats contested by the BJP.
He also made an exception in the case of JD (U) in Hassanpur, here interestingly, there is a feeling that the LJP wants to help Tej Pratap Yadav, the eldest son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, who is opposed to the sitting MP belonging to the party of the chief minister.
