Kathmandu:
The National Assembly of Nepal today unanimously adopted the draft law amending the Constitution to update the political and administrative map of the country comprising three Indian territories.
India called Nepal’s “artificial enlargement” of land claims untenable after its lower house of parliament unanimously approved the country’s new political map on Saturday, including areas India maintains it claims belongs.
The National Assembly, or the upper house of the Nepalese parliament, unanimously adopted the constitutional amendment bill providing for the inclusion of the new political map of the country in its national emblem.
The bill was passed and the 57 members present voted in favor.
Nepal, in its new map, claims Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura in India as its territories.
