He pointed out that the tradition of celebrating Bibaha Panchami where a wedding procession from Ayodhya, India, to Janakpur, Nepal takes place every year.

“The Prime Ministers of Nepal and India inaugurated the Ramayana circuit in May 2018, of which the Janakpur-Ayodhya passenger bus service is an important element. These facts signify the bond of cultural affinity respected by time between our two countries and peoples, “added the ministry. .

The clarification comes at a time when Nepal is causing public outcry over Prime Minister Oli’s controversial remarks about Ayodhya.

“Prime Minister Oli’s statements have crossed the line. Extremism only creates trouble,” tweeted former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.

In his sarcastic remark, Mr. Bhattarai said, “Now let’s hope to hear the new Ramayan from Kaliyug from Prime Minister Oli.”
