Noida police on Tuesday arrested a company making fake test kits for COVID-19 and arrested one person, officials said.

Nearly four fake lakh rapid test kits were recovered from the company in Sector 7, under the area of ​​the Sector 20 police station, they said.

The bogus company was arrested a day after a complaint was filed about it by a representative of a company that manufactures COVID-19 test kits. The company claimed that its counterfeit labels were being used on fake test kits, ”a police spokesperson said. .

Rajesh Prasad, who runs this bogus company, has been arrested. He was collected from his home in Ashok Nagar in Delhi, he said.

Police said 3.97 lakh sachets containing fake rapid antibody test kits for the coronavirus were seized from the company.

An FIR has been filed under the 1957 copyright law at the Sector 20 police station, and new proceedings are underway, police said.
