NEP will scale down the program and make learning a fun and complete experience, PM Modi said

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that school students should have a new curriculum, which is in line with the new national education policy, by 2022, when the country celebrates its 75th anniversary of independence .

Noting that the roadmap has become a “pressure sheet” for students and a “prestige sheet” for families, the prime minister said the new policy aims to remove this pressure.

The NEP will scale down the curriculum and make learning a fun and complete experience, he said.

The new educational framework will be developed and ready by 2022, when the nation celebrates its 75th anniversary of independence, he said during the “School Education Conclave” organized by the Ministry of Education.

The new program will be a future and scientific. He will have new skills to promote critical thinking, creativity, communication and curiosity, Prime Minister Modi said.

The Prime Minister noted that the Ministry of Education had received more than 15 suggestions from teachers on the implementation of NEP in one week through the MyGov portal.

Advocating education up to grade 5 in the mother tongue, the Prime Minister said that the language is only a mode of study and not a study in itself.
