Months after Varun Dhawan announced that his film Mr lele has been indefinitely “postponed” due to opposite dates, director Shashank Khaitan has dismissed rumors that Dharma Production was looking for actors for the film. “I have received many messages and emails from actors that someone named Nitesh Sharma Casting claims to be casting director for Dharma Productions and the film Mr lele. He’s asking for money for auditions and other favors, “Khaitan wrote in his post, adding,” Please note that this is false. No one by that name works for Dharma. “The filmmaker also reiterated that:” We don’t sink for Mr lele because the film is not currently happening. ” Mr lele would have marked Varun’s third collaboration with the filmmaker after working with him in 2014 Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania from 2017, both produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
In the caption to his message, Shashank Khaitan added: “Please be aware of all of these people claiming to be Dharma Productions. Mr lele is not happening right now. We don’t do any casting for that. Please do not be ripped off by such frauds. Please be careful. Be careful.”
Earlier in March – just over a month later Mr lele has been announced – Mr. Khaitan confirmed that the film had been “delayed” while the project had been abandoned. His statement suggests that Mr lele has been suspended for the moment because it is a film with an overall distribution and the dates of the actors could not be coordinated. “Karan, Varun and I have mutually decided to postpone the shooting of the film. It’s a scenario that we all like and I’m sure it will come back soon. But the programming of the film proved to be very difficult, because the film has a solid distribution of the set and the dates just weren’t in place, “Khaitan tweeted.
