Over 100 terrorists have been neutralized, said Dilbag Singh

Senior police and military officers said on Friday that the past 1.5 years have been the most peaceful in Jammu and Kashmir and that every successful counterterrorism operation moves the security forces towards peace .
“It is a great pleasure for me to say that the last full year and about five and a half months of this year have been the most peaceful months we have had in terms of respect for public order in general and the “Public order situations around (anti-terrorist) operations sites in particular,” said Dilbag Singh, director general of the Jammu and Kashmir police.
“In the past five and a half months or so, more than 100 terrorists have been neutralized, including more than 50 from Hizbul Mujahideen, 20 from Lashkar-e-Taiba, 20 from Jaish-e-Mohammed and the rest of the little outfits like Al-Badr, Ansar Gazwatul Hind, “said Singh.
“Likewise, around half a dozen successful operations have been carried out in the Jammu area as well as a dozen terrorists have been neutralized. Our Pir Panjal range is very much under control, Doda-Kishtwar is almost on the verge to be without terrorism, one terrorist staying in Doda district and three in Kishtwar, “he said.
The DGP declared that the security forces had only succeeded because the inhabitants of the territory of the Union were cooperating.
Speaking on the situation, the general of division (GdC) of the Chinar Corps based in Srinagar, the lieutenant-general BS Raju, declared: “With each operation which ends, we head on the way of peace. “
Lieutenant-General Raju said that so far this year, the security forces have neutralized 102 terrorists and said: “Due to the professional manner in which these operations have been carried out, we have only had one or two civilian casualties, which means that the security forces have exercised extraordinary restraint and that’s because we want to keep that connection with the people. “
Of the 49 new terrorist recruits this year, 27 have been neutralized, said Lt. Gen. Raju, adding that the recruitment of terrorists to the valley has dropped considerably.
