Delhi Police arrested 37-year-old man posing as a female model by creating a fake social media account and collecting nude photos of women under the pretext of giving them a chance to audition for a web series , officials said Monday.
Police said a 17-year-old girl complained about being contacted by a Rashi Goel on social media, who introduced herself as a model looking for new models for an upcoming web series, requested her normal, nude photos for auditions.
The girl sent her nude photos to Rashi Goel, but she kept asking for more. The girl then blocked Rashi Goel on the social media platform, a senior police official said.
The complainant was contacted by two people, who sent her nude photos that she had sent to Rashi Goel, and threatened to post them on social media if she did not accept their requests, he said. declared.
An obscene photograph of the girl was also sent to two of her friends. The accused also sent him a screenshot of a profile created using his name and photo, police said.
“During the investigation, four social media IDs, created to contact women, were identified. Later, Mam Chand was detained outside his residence in Delhi Sultanpuri,” the commissioner said. Police Assistant (North) Anto Alphonse.
Mam Chand has created several fake social media profiles and targeted upcoming models. He was previously involved in a cheating case at Hisar from Haryana, the DCP said.
During questioning, the accused claimed that he had never met any of the men. An interview form and objectionable photos of them were also found in the accused’s cell phone, police said, adding that three cell phones and four SIM cards were seized from Mam Chand.
