Thane:

Police on Saturday resolved the double murder case in the town of Mira Road by arresting the accused Kallu Yadav who was hiding in Pune.

Police were looking for Mr. Yadav after two bodies were found in a water tank at a local restaurant on Mira Road on Friday.

The accused admitted his crime of killing a hotelier and his assistant.

“The accused Kallu Yadav stated that he had killed the hotelier and his Shabari assistant at the Bar and Restaurant while they were abusing him,” said director of police (Thane Rural) Dr. Shivaji Rathod.

The cops followed Mr. Yadav to Pune and seized him within 12 hours. Subsequently, he was taken to Thane where he made a confession, said Mr. Rathod.

“A case of double murder has been registered under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code,” added SP Rathod.

After interrogation, the police discovered that Mr. Yadav was previously involved in the Calcutta murder case.
