Raigarh:
A woman from Chhattisgarh has accused her employer of raping her last year and making her pregnant while working as a domestic maid at his home, police said.
The woman, a resident of Gharghoda in Raigarh district, worked at the home of the defendant identified as Raja Ram Rathia last year when she was a teenager, Police Commissioner Santosh Singh said.
“Her father got her this job at a time when she was mentally ill. The woman was raped on the pretext of marriage and then returned to her father’s home by the accused. She gave birth to a child in May of this year. After she recovered from her mental illness, she said that Rathia had raped her, ”Singh said.
A case of rape and kidnapping was recorded at Gharghoda police station and efforts were underway to arrest it, police said.
“His father was also charged in this case, but not for rape,” added the official.
