Three days after the Maharashtra interior ministry issued an order to transfer 10 deputy police commissioners (DCP) to Mumbai, he was dismissed on Sunday.
Maharashtra Interior Minister Anil Deshmukh said on Sunday that the transfer order had been revoked.
According to an official, the transfer order for the Mumbai police FADs was issued on Thursday. However, in accordance with the new order issued on Sunday, the transfer was canceled and the DCPs were invited to continue their current assignments.
“The Office of the Chief Minister (CMO) and my office have revoked the transfers made by the Mumbai police commissioner,” said Mr. Deshmukh.
However, the Minister did not specify the reason for the cancellation of the transfer order.
He said there was good coordination between MVA allies, Shiv Sena, the NCP and Congress – and that there was no difference
Meanwhile, home ministry sources said the transfers were made on the advice of the bureaucracy because they were long overdue, but the government has rethought for the coronavirus pandemic.
“The transfers were canceled because the government believed that any change at this stage would harm the coordination process and would also have an impact on the deployment on the ground of police personnel, who are the first combatants of COVID -19”, said indicated the sources.
A police official said: “In accordance with the new order from the Interior Ministry, the DCPs have been invited to continue their current assignments.”
Pursuant to the new order, DCP (Operation) Pranay Ashok received the additional charge from Zone V in central Mumbai after his vacancy following DCP Niyati Thacker’s accession to the Intelligence Office as Deputy Director .
DCP N Ambika (headquarters) also received an additional charge for zone III after the DCP Abhinash Kumar was sent to the central deputation, added the official.
In accordance with the previous order, the FADs of zone VII, protection, SB-I, port zone, CB (detection), zone XI, cyber, zone I, operation and LA Tardeo were transferred to different zones of the police service from the city.
“The order issued today was signed by the joint police (administration) commissioner Naval Bajaj,” added the official.
