Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday asked ministers and state deputies to donate 30% of their salaries to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Urban Development Minister Bhupendra Singh has confirmed that all lawmakers will answer the call.

“If you all agree, then we will contribute 30 percent of our salary to the CM Relief Fund, to fight COVID-19, until the pandemic is not under control – either in July. , August, September or October, “Mr. Chouhan said in a conversation with state ministers by video conference, according to the ANI news agency.

“I call on all MPs to contribute 30 percent of their salaries for three months to the CM Relief Fund, in the fight against COVID-19. I also call on people to contribute to the fund,” he added.

He also said the COVID-19 testing campaign will continue in the first half of August.

“We ran a COVID campaign from July 1 to 31 in which extensive testing was carried out. Phase 2 of the campaign will run from August 1 to 14, in which we will resolve to keep the distance social and to wear masks to break the chain of infection, ”he said.

“During this period, the Chief Minister, Ministers, Members of Parliament and other representatives of the public will not have public gatherings. The ceremonies of laying the first stone, ‘Bhoomi Pujan’, inaugurations and all functions where large crowds gather will be prohibited. It can be done by videoconference, ”he added.

The chief minister, who himself tested positive for coronavirus last week, continues to be in good health, according to a hospital bulletin.

Madhya Pradesh had registered 834 new cases of the coronavirus as of Thursday, including 233 in Bhopal, bringing the state’s tally to 30,968, health officials said. With 13 more deaths, the death toll from the disease rose to 857 in the state, they added.
