Shiv Sena will run for 40 to 50 seats in Bihar’s assembly elections, but no final decision has yet been made on the pre-election alliance, party leader Sanjay Raut said on Tuesday.

However, Sanjay Raut declined to say anything about talks with his pre-existing ally in the Maharashtra government, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), in Bihar.

The Lok Janashakti party led by President Chirag Paswan decided to go it alone in this election, but said it was ready to enter into a post-election alliance with the BJP.

The Bihar Assembly, which has 243 seats, will go to the polls in three phases. Voting will take place on October 28, November 3 and November 7, and the results will be released on November 10.
