Police say bottles were seized while being transported illegally (representation)
Krishna, Andhra Pradesh:
On Friday, the Krishna district police destroyed bottles of alcohol worth around 72 lakh Rs, seized in various cases, by a steamroller at the police parade ground in Machilipatnam.
Police said the bottles were seized during their illegal transportation. No fewer than 14,189 bottles of NDP alcohol and 270 liters of ID liquid were destroyed.
Mr. SP Ravindranath Babu of Krishna District said: “Today we are destroying excise goods seized in excise cases filed in the range of 10 police stations in the district. These are seized goods in 312 cases within the limits of 10 police stations “.
“The legal process for – ID arack (illegally distilled) and NDPL alcoholic beverages (unacknowledged) from neighboring states captured since the lockout was imposed – is complete. Destroyed,” added Babu.
Eluru range DIG KV Mohan Rao, Enforcement Bureau ASP Vakul Jindal, other police and excise officials were also present.
