NBC and ABC News have also ended their live coverage of Trump.

Washington, United States:

Several U.S. TV stations cut live coverage of Donald Trump’s first public appearance since election night on Thursday evening after concluding that the president was broadcasting disinformation.

Trump unleashed a barrage of inflammatory and unsubstantiated allegations in a 17-minute speech, insisting Democrats were using “illegal votes” to “steal the election from us.”

The president spoke as late tally of votes in battlefield states showed Democrat Joe Biden steadily closing in on victory.

“OK, here we are again in the unusual position of not only interrupting the President of the United States, but correcting the President of the United States,” said Brian Williams, the MSNBC presenter, as the network quickly put end to its live coverage.

NBC and ABC News have also ended their live coverage of Trump.

“What a sad night for the United States of America to hear its president say this, to falsely accuse people of trying to steal the election,” CNN’s Jake Tapper said.

He described it as “lie after lie after lie about election theft”, without any evidence, “just smears”.
