Jaipur / New Delhi:
Rajasthan police today wrote to Haryana police “seeking to cooperate” after they voided their search for rebel MPs accused of conspiring to bring down Ashok Gehlot’s congressional government.
A team from the Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG) visited two complexes in Manesar, near Delhi, where rebel deputies from the Sachin Pilot camp have been staying for more than a week, but returned. empty hands. Congress took this as confirmation that the rebel team of Sachin Pilot has the active support of the BJP, which leads Haryana.
Two MPs, Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Vishvendra Singh, have been suspended by Congress and charged with playing a role in the attempt to bribe party MPs to switch sides and bring down the Gehlot government. The party also alleged that Bhanwar Lal Sharma was caught making deals with BJP Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, based on audio tapes posted online.
The Rajasthan police team traveled to Haryana to take voice samples from Bhanwar Lal Sharma. When the team arrived at ITC Bharat Grand last Friday, they were arrested by a large contingent of Haryana police. When he finally entered, there was no sign of the rebels.
On Sunday, Rajasthan police attended the Best Western Resort, but the doors did not open and left after a 20-minute wait.
The investigation into the alleged “horse trade” has left the Congress of Rajasthan completely divided. Sachin Pilot, was asked to answer questions about alleged attempts to overthrow a government in which he was chief deputy minister, left Jaipur for Delhi in a fit of rage and has camped there ever since. Congress, while making almost unprecedented attempts at contact, accused Mr. Pilot of taking the time to win over more rebels.
