“Not a single person” in the north had contracted the coronavirus, Kim Jong Un said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un told the public during a military parade on Saturday that he was grateful “not a single person” in the North has contracted the coronavirus which has swept the world since its emergence in neighboring China .

Pyongyang closed its borders in January to try to protect itself from the disease and has consistently said it has no cases, but state media had avoided such explicit statements in recent months, instead emphasizing the importance of prevention efforts.
