Eminent Kannada director Vijay Reddy, who has delivered numerous blockbusters, died in a Chennai hospital, family sources said on Saturday, PTI news agency reported. Mr Reddy (84) suffered from age-related illnesses as a result of which he was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai, where he breathed his last breath on Friday evening. He left a deep imprint on moviegoers with his films Gandhada Gudi, Bhakta Prahlada and Na Ninna Mareyalare.
Condemning his death, Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar tweeted: “Vijay Reddy, who had directed the films of my father, Dr Rajkumar, such as Gandhada Gudi, Mayura and Na Ninna Mareyalare “Pray for the dead soul to rest in peace,” Puneeth added.
The actor said he was lucky to have worked in the film Bhakta Prahlada directed by Vijay Reddy.
