Wilmington:

U.S. Democrat Joe Biden said on Wednesday he was confident of winning the presidency once all the votes were counted, saying he was leading Donald Trump in the remaining oscillating states that will determine the outcome of the election.

With Tuesday’s election results showing that Biden is gradually approaching the threshold needed to win the White House, Trump has launched legal challenges in his efforts to suspend ballot counting or forced recounts on the fields. battle that will determine the next president.

“After a long night of counting, it is clear that we are winning enough states to achieve the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency,” Biden said in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.

“I’m not here to say we won. But I’m here to report that when the tally is over, we think we’ll be the winners,” Biden added.

Even as U.S. networks called Michigan – and its 16 electoral votes – for Biden on Wednesday, the president’s campaign announced a lawsuit in an attempt to suspend the vote count in the hotly contested battlefield.

Biden, speaking in a measured and calm tone, pushed back, saying that “every vote should be counted.”

“We the people will not be silenced,” he added, as his running mate Kamala Harris stood by his side.

The 77-year-old former vice president spoke of the three Great Lakes states that could be the key to a Biden victory, noting that he had won Wisconsin by 20,000 votes.

“In Michigan, we lead with over 35,000 votes and it’s increasing – a significantly larger margin than President Trump won in Michigan in 2016,” he said.

And when it comes to perhaps the pivotal state for the entire election, Biden said, “I feel great in Pennsylvania.”

Trump leads in Keystone state with 84% of constituencies. But Biden said the vast majority of the remaining ballots to be counted were mailed out and he won 78% of the votes by mail in Pennsylvania.
