Joe Biden said on Friday as he prepares to win the US presidency, he would not waste time tackling the Covid pandemic when he takes office.
“I want everyone, everyone to know from day one that we’re going to implement our plan to control this virus,” Biden said in a late-night speech from his hometown of Wilmington, in the Delaware.
Biden said he was convinced he would beat President Donald Trump as the vote count dragged on from Tuesday’s election, but stopped before declaring himself the winner.
He pledged to unite a bitterly divided nation.
“It is time for us to come together as a nation to heal,” Biden said.
